Laura Marashlian
Lead Teacher & Director
Laura joined Plum Hill in 2008 following 4 years as a kindergarten teacher at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City. She has her Master’s Degree in Waldorf Early Education from Sunbridge College in New York.
Lucia Dillon
Lead Teacher & Director
Lucia has been a teacher at Plum Hill since 2011. She began as an assistant and went on to complete her EEC training for lead teacher and director through the state of Massachusetts. Lucia has a background in Waldorf education having been homeschooled in the Waldorf tradition as a child. As a young adult she found her way back to the rhythms of Waldorf education at Plum Hill and naturally felt right at home. Lucia is grateful and honored to spend her days with the magical little ones of Plum Hill.
Emmy Mayhew
Teacher
Emmy was born and raised in Holland and moved to Martha’s Vineyard in 2016. She has always loved working with children and was introduced to Plum Hill School and Waldorf Education when she nannied for a long time Plum Hill family. She enjoyed working at the very first Plum summer camp in 2021 and started teaching full time that school year. She got her degree in early childhood education, and her lead teacher certification through the state of Massachusetts and is continuing to take courses in Waldorf education. She felt right at home within the Waldorf early childhood setting and found that teaching the little ones is what she loves the most.
Tilly Alexander
Teacher
Tilly is a teacher in the nursery room. After studying visual arts at The College of Wooster in Ohio she provided childcare for island families, bringing creativity and a love of nature to the children. Tilly spends her free time cooking and doing handicrafts, making her feel right at home in the Waldorf rhythms. She enjoys the wonder and warmth of the Plum Hill community and is delighted to spend her days here.
